IDCA hosts its 26th Annual Awards

The honorees include key Indian industry players
IDCA hosts its 26th Annual Awards

The Indian Diamond & Colorstone Association (IDCA) hosted its 26th Annual Awards Night for honorees of the year, amongst which were some leading Indian diamantaires and gem and jewellery companies. The event took place on June 5, 2010.

Indian entity Gitanjali Group of Companies, received the “Retailer of the Year” Award, 2010. The Group has established its presence across five continents. The IDCA “Pioneer Awardee” title was awarded to Mr. Manhar Bhansali, Chairman, Goldiam International Limited, for his achievements over the years.

Ms. Pamela Mortensen, Sr. V.P. and GMM, Fine Jewelry, J. C. Penney was the recipient of the “Doyenne of the Year” award. She said, “I am honored to receive this award. Throughout my career, I have had the great pleasure of working with the Indian community to bring exceptional jewelry to customers across the United States. The Indian jewelry industry has evolved into one of the most dynamic and innovative groups in the jewelry industry. Besides ygem and jewellery companies and diamantaires, the IDCA also recognised the support of the banking institution towards the industry. IDCA honored Mr. Victor H. van der Kwast, CEO, International Diamond & Jewelry Group, ABN AMRO Bank, N.V. with the “Business Banker of the Year” award. ABN AMRO has been a pioneer and market leader in this industry for many years.

The Indian Diamond & Colorstone Association is based in New York and is a premier association of jewelers, diamantaires and coloured stone dealers.
