HRD Antwerp identifies grading discrepancies in Mumbai lab

In a recent announcement HRD Antwerp noted that through its continuous and rigorous system of internal controls, it has exposed grading discrepancies in its Mumbai lab. This singular incident involves a limited number of diamonds which were submitted by one specific client at the HRD Antwerp lab in Mumbai.

As HRD Antwerp is adamant to uphold its excellent reputation in terms of quality, integrity and controls, the company has taken immediate and swift action and filed an official complaint with the local authorities and legal action against all parties involved, both internally and externally. Simultaneously it has promptly banned the client involved in this case from working further with HRD Antwerp.

The company noted that a limited number of diamonds concerned may have entered the market and has published a list of possibly affected certificates which can be read on its website. Also, it has recalled the certificates listed for a free of charge check.

HRD Antwerp believes in strengthening consumer confidence and protecting the integrity of the global diamond trade by making these acts public and by holding those who commit these acts fully accountable for their actions.
