Members of the Gem & Jewellery Export Promotion Council (GJEPC) were made familiar with the policies and procedures related to the supply of gold from Nominated Agencies and Banks in a seminar, reports say. The seminar was hosted by the GJEPC for its members at the S G Jhaveri Trading Hall in the Bharat Diamond Bourse on June 29th. It was attended by leading people from the council and industry members, as per reports.

During the seminar, Dr. Jitarani Udgata, Assistant Director, Trade Policy & Commerce, GJEPC presented key procedural hurdles faced by the gem and jewellery exporters with regards to supply of gold from the Nominated Agencies and Banks. There was an exchange of knowledge between the exporter-members MMTC officials and representatives of the banks and agencies, reports add. The discussions involved topics on gold procurement, and addressing the queries and suggestions from the exporters, as per reports. Dr Jitarani suggested the organisations present should appoint one representative each, whom the trade could approach in relation to issues. Dr Jitarani further expressed support of the council in these matters.
