GJF Night: An Exciting Night

The All India Gems & Jewellery Trade Federation (GJF) hosted their signature GJF Night at the close of day two at IIJS 2013. Tradesmen were seen having a gala time at the event which was a breath of fresh air after the busy second day at the India International Jewellery Show. Amongst the guests seen were Nirupa Bhat, MD, GIA-India and Middle East, Pankaj Parekh, Vice-Chairman, GJEPC, Rajendra Jian, MD, Swarovski Gems-India and many more who were seen chatting on a lighter note and enjoying themselves.

The Chief Guest at the show was Shiv Sena President Udhav Thackeray. The Guest of Honour was the Mayor of Mumbai Sunil Prabhu accompanied by Member of Parliament Anand Gite. Udhav Thackeray was accompanied by his wife, Rashmi Thackeray and his son and aspiring politician Aditya Thackeray. The show took off with the GJF Chairman, Haresh Soni's welcome speech who urged the audience to forget about the testing times the industry is facing for just one night and to celebrate this evening of fun and frolic.

But, the highlight of the show was the dynamic speech by Udhav Thackeray who asked the audience to support him to make this country better and importantly foster better business atmosphere for the gems and jewellery industry. He stated, "I promise to make gold from a 'dirty' word to a 'shubh' (auspicious) word if I have the support of the gems and jewellery industry. You all are big businessmen with large employee legion and if you decide to ensure that your precious votes go to the right party than things can change. If only matters are taken in our own hands can the better times be seen."

After the thunderous appluase the show took a fashionable turn with a sizzling fashion show displaying Swarovski Gems treasures. The showstopper was the Bollywood starlet Tanushree Datta.

The night of entertainment and networking continued till late hours as the patrons went home with a relaxed mind to garner better business at the IIJS today.
