Initially, it had been proposed to conduct the “metal setter (basic)” course according to the NOS created for 25 days (five hours a day) for the already skilled labor force in Karaikudi who were keen to learn the “open setting” to improve their skill set. However, based on the request of GJSCI, GJEPC organized the work benches from Goldsmith Academy, Madurai to transport, fix and run the class on the inaugural day for 12 trainees who were goldsmiths and wished to upgrade their skill set mainly in “open setting”.
