Doha Jewellery and Watches Exhibition 2014 concluded successfully

The Doha Jewellery and Watches Exhibition (DJWE) 2014 witnessed a good showcasing of watches, jewellery and gemstones and a good turnout of around 40,000 visitors. The event was held from February 25 – Match 2, 104 and for the first time took place at the Qatar National Convention Centre. It was held under the patronage of the Prime Minister of Qatar, Minister of Interior, HE Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al Thani, and organized by Qatar Tourism Authority in partnership with q.media events and for the first time – Fira Barcelona and sponsored by Qatar National Bank.

There were over 500 products in gemstones, watches. Organizers reported that the exhibitors present at the show collectively had pieces on display which exceeded 600 million Qatari Riyals. Product showcasing was also organised through Fashion Shows each day of the event.

Visitors picked on some more glamour quotient with celebrity appearances by Lebanese born singer, actress, presenter, fashion icon and brand ambassador to Voyaeur, Maya Diab and Formula One racer Lewis Hamilton - currently brand ambassador for IWC Schaffhausen.

Besides the strong list of international brands, home-grown brand Qatar Luxury Group (QELA) also featured at the show. The brand which has an international reach debuted its latest creations made in precious metals and gemstones and inspired by Qatar’s tranquil and vibrant landscapes.
