On display are Ahluwalia’s large-scale hyper-realistic paintings with ultra magnified facets. Having looked at diamonds her entire life, Ahluwalia knows diamonds intimately well. Precision and use of dramatic colures are Ahluwalia’s signature style. Ahluwalia’s paintings celebrate the human spirit and the best in each one of us through diamond storytelling. Ahluwalia said, “I want people who stand in front of my paintings to feel like a diamond – full of potential, rare, precious, brilliant and luminous. My paintings tell positive, uplifting and empowering stories, because diamonds without stories and soul are stone cold.”
The value and provenance of Reena’s paintings is related to a very limited nature of supply and the historic imprint she has made as a world-renowned jewellery artist. According to Ahluwalia, “This coming together is meaningful to me. Not only that the C. Krishniah Chetty Group is one of the prominent collectors of my diamond artwork in India, but their legacy of upholding Indian jewelry forms and crafts from over 145 year is a great service to the nation”.
The exhibition of Reena Alhuwalia’s paintings in association with C Krishniah Chetty Group will be on display in series of premier events. For the next two weeks till the end of February, paintings can be viewed at C. Krishniah Chetty stores across Bangalore.
As creating ‘Art with Heart’ is Ahluwalia’s motivation to create, a percentage of the sale of the paintings will be donated by Reena Ahluwalia to the C. KRISHNIAH CHETTY FOUNDATION towards improvement of three government primary schools in Dasarahalli, Jogupalya and Ulsoor - Bangalore.
