Chow Tai Fook group revenues up 63% in fiscal Q1

In its first fiscal quarter closing June 30, 2013, Chow Tai Fook recorded a 63 percent increase (on y-o-y basis) in its group revenue. The company noted a heavy buying of gold as the prices plunged in April. Its revenues in Mainland China rose 45 percent, while in Hong Kong and Macau it rose 85 percent, reports say. There were no sales figures revealed.

The group same-store sales rose 48 percent, in which China witnessed an increase of 32 percent and Hong Kong and Macau an increase of 68 percent. There was an increase of 78 percent of same-store sales of gold products and gem set jewelry sales were up 8 percent, reports add.
