Networking, entertainment and fun unfolds at GJF Nite
An Evening to Remember

After a hard day of work at the IIJS 2011, it was an evening of fun and frolic, networking and entertainment at the special GJF Nite held on August 05, 2011, where the jewellers of India relaxed over dinner and cocktails.

The evening started with an enthralling and patriotic performance by the Prince Dance Troop of Indian Idol fame. The performance was followed by welcome addresses by one of the founders, and the first chairman of GJF, Ashok Minawala, followed by a few words from the immediate past chairman, Vinod Hayagriv.

In his speech Hayagriv stressed the sheer size and importance of the Indian gem and jewellery sector saying, “I did not know the power of the gem and jewellery sector, until by fate, I was asked to take a very challenging position for two years.” Appreciating the work done by the present chairman of the federation, Bachhraj Bamalwa, Hayagriv added, “GJF has just begun its life under Bachhrajji. It will create a whole new paradigm for the organisation.”

The participants of the recently launched programme, the Preferred Manufacturers of India, were called upon the stage and felicitated by the federation.

The Gemmological Institute of America (GIA) were the presenting partners for the evening and the event was powered by Derewala Jewellery. The glittering evening was studded with special entertainment performances by famous musicians, singers and dancers.

The Who’s Who of the industry was present at the Grand Hyatt, the venue for the event. The audience was treated to a spectacular fashion show by the sponsors of the event like GIA, Vasupati Jewellers, R.M Jewellery, P & S Jewellery, Royal Diamonds and Swarovski Gems to name a few.
