Rough diamond sales up despite global market conditions being poor
Alrosa’s rough diamond production up 6% in 2015

Alrosa Group produced 38.3 million carats in 2015, or 6 percent higher as compared to 2014. The company attributed this rise to the successful development of Mir and Udachny underground mines, commissioning of Karpinskaya-1 and Botuobinskaya pipes and other high-potential deposits. Global diamond mining in 2015 grew an average of 3 percent and was estimated by the company at about 129 million carats.

The company’s rough diamond sales in 2015 rose by 3.8 percent and sales proceeds by 8 percent to RUB 224.5 billion, despite poor global diamond market condition last year. The increment of diamond reserves by Alrosa Group totaled 43.6 million carats.

Alrosa’s Executive Committee in a scheduled meeting has preapproved the results of the company’s financial and economic activities in 2015.
