ALROSA to continue free health screening programs for workers in 2018

Late in 2017, ALROSA started two programs of free medical screening for employees: Men's Health and Prevention and Early Diagnosis of Diseases of the Digestive System. The early diagnosis and prevention of diseases screening was performed from October 25 to December 28. More than 5,000 employees were examined within two months. ALROSA will continue the screening program in 2018.

ALROSA implemented the screening program at health centers of four production sites in Udachny, Aikhal, Mirny, and Lensk. Specialists, who have extensive experience in organizing workers' professional examinations at large enterprises for preventing diseases, were invited from SOGAZ international medical center to examine the Company's employees.

5,425 employees of the Company, i.e. 90 per cent of all employees invited to go through the screening program, underwent a health checkup in two programs. 2,736 employees over 40 were examined under the Men's Health program, and 2,689 employees over 45 passed the examination under the Prevention and Early Diagnosis of Diseases of the Digestive System program.

Such health checkups help to identify diseases in early asymptomatic stages when treatment is most effective. The screening program for employees included ultrasound examination of internal organs, collection of analyses of various biological materials, free medical consultations and recommendations.

Total budget of the screening program in 2017 amounted to RUB 30 million.

Alexander Terentyev, ALROSA Vice President:

"In 2017, 90 per cent of the employees invited to the examination passed the screening. It is a perfect result indicating that people are ready to be examined and are interested in such programs. Such a positive response will most likely encourage us to expand the screening program in the years to come. Early diagnosis and timely treatment is the best guarantee of people's health."

In 2018, voluntary medical examination of the Company's employees will continue, the Company is considering and preparing screening programs. In particular, Cardio Screening and Women's Health programs, as well as proposals in other popular areas, are under consideration. Due to a keen interest expressed by ALROSA's employees, expanding the age group is also being considered. As in 2017, the program will be free for the employees.
