3rd Singapore Jewellery & Gem Fair to have new features

The Singapore Jewellery & Gem Fair 2015 unfolds with its third edition this month, between October 22-25 at Sands Expo and Convention Centre in Singapore. The event is slated to be a bigger in its offerings, with new features added to this edition, reports say.

One of the new additions is the SG50 Exhibition, also a highlight of the event. This exhibit narrates Singapore's heritage in the arts of fine jewellery making showcasing vintage jewellery and rare antiques; in commemoration of Singapore’s Golden Jubilee, as per reports.

A gala dinner hosted by the Diamond Exchange of Singapore at the Marina Bay Sands in conjunction with Singapore Jewellery & Gem Fair 2015, will be held and is entitled ‘Diamonds in the Rough’, celebrating SG50 with a charity auction wherein proceeds will be donated to the Singapore Repertory Theatre (SRT) Children's Fund, reports add.

Around 200 exhibitors are expected to participate at the event this year, with 10 themed and country pavilions being organised. The themed pavilions will feature various industry sectors including jewellery, loose gems, diamonds, precious stones, and pearls. Also, knowledge sharing will be inspired through seminars in collaboration with the Euromonitor International, Gemological Institute of America Laboratory Bangkok (GIA) and the Jewellery Design and Management International School (JDMIS).

The Fair organisers are UBM Asia with Singapore Jewellers Association (SJA) and the Diamond Exchange of Singapore (DES) endorsing and supporting it.
