Two staff members who were on their way to the bank to deposit cash were robbed at knife-point on Hok Yuen Street East, near the junction with Hung Hom Road in Hung Hom in Kowloon, yesterday.

Two staff members from H K Impex, a marketing affiliate of Hari Krishna Exports, were robbed at knifepoint on Hok Yuen Street East, near the junction with Hung Hom Road in Hung Hom in Kowloon, just before 10.30 am on Friday.

The staff members were reportedly on their way to the bank to deposit cash when four men came in a car, robbed them at knifepoint and fled in a car. The inured staff members have been admitted in the hospital.

As reported by SCMP.com, two rucksacks were taken, containing US$740,000 and HK$363,060 (US$46,000) – a total value of about US$786,000 in cash – along with six crossed cheques.

Hong Kong Indian Diamond Association's Asst Manager, Mr Robert Chellapan's said: "Four people came in a car and robbed the two employees of H.K. Impex. The employees were on their way to the bank (two street away) to deposit cash. The two employees were attacked with knives and were injured. However, we don't know the seriousness of the injuries. The employees are in the hospital and are currently recuperating. Till yesterday, no arrests were made and investigations are on. No identity of the robbers has been revealed."

As per SCMP report, at about 1pm, the vehicle was found abandoned outside Olympian City on Hoi Ting Road, Mong Kok. The police have also found two bloodstained knives along with hats and face masks on board the vehicle. The police sources have described the crime as pre-planned.
