VicenzaOro Winter, the international jewellery show, is a reference for the industry, gives voice to the most significant trends in the world of precious stones, metals, jewels and machinery. The winter edition of VicenzaOro- the renowned International Fair on Gems and Jewellery- hosted in the city of Vicenza twice every year was held on 19th-24th January 2018.

The 2018 winter edition registered more than 36000 visitors. A 10 per cent increase in the number of buyers was registered compared to 2017, coming from over 130 different countries. Over 1300 brands from 35 different countries, over 500 hosted buyers, 800 Golden Buyers, journalists, opinion leaders and trendsetters from every corner of the world and visitors from 120 nations.

Since 2005, the Gem and Jewellery Export Promotion Council (GJEPC) has been organizing an India Pavilion at Vicenza Oro Fair. During January 2018 edition, 18 exhibitors under GJEPC were present. GJEPC member-companies exhibited in an area of 326 sq mtrs/24 booths. The Council also had a promotional booth. Ajay Purohit, Manager Exhibitions, GJEPC and Bitthal Maheshwari, Europe Co-ordinator, GJEPC, were present at the show.

Consul General of India in Milan, Charanjeet Singh visited the India Pavilion on the 23 January 2018. During the visit Consul General interacted with the Indian exhibitors and GJEPC representatives. Consul General called upon the Indian participants to imbibe the concepts of designers from other countries. He also stressed the need to strengthen Indian participation under GJEPC’s banner. During his interaction with the fair authorities he suggested that VicenzaOro should mark the 70th anniversary of India-Italy bilateral relations in a befitting manner and in the next winter edition of VicenzaOro in January 2019, they may consider in making a special pavilion for India to give more prominence to the Indian participation. He has asked the European Coordinator of GJEPC and the India-based official of GJEPC to work with the VicenzaOro authorities to develop a suitable plan in this regards.

The next edition will take place from 22 -26 September 2018, in Vicenza-Italy.
